Again the Morning

Again the morning of the undertaking
Of laughing children and starving dogs
Of headphones and solitude
Again the happiness of afternoon
The anticipation of the hurried
In the magic of smothered light
Again the intimate forsaken night
Does ache as the heart in a hurt reborn
For the donning of tomorrow's armor

M

Through mourning storm
In cloud and gloom
Of Acheronian twilight
Fell
Soul and dust, fired and star-forged
Into womb
And her arms of light

Should Night Arise

Should night arise within your heart
Your face become the haunting shade
Your hand become the instrument
By which an innocence departs
Step not again into this realm
Of guardians and iron might
Who limb-from-limb shall liberate
The dark to give back to the light

Prayer

Give us this night
In forgiving dreams
Alive and in love
For tomorrow
Give us these children
We wished we could be
Scarred not by yesterday's
Sorrow

In a Word

Breath becomes
Vibration setting
Cataclysm or repair
Of a new illumination
Born of hope or dark despair

Not Guilty

I am forgiven I am free
Though the sun has set
Your eyes are upon me
Though darkness
Never bring to light
That dark too dark to see
Your gaze is all I need
